OpenAssets and Sui Partner on Tokenized Asset Standard via Linux Foundation
OpenAssets and Sui are collaborating on OTAS, an open standard under LF Decentralized Trust to connect tokenized assets with the Sui ecosystem.
OpenAssets and Sui announced a collaboration to develop the OpenAssets Tokenization Standard, known as OTAS, an open and blockchain-agnostic framework designed to define how tokenized asset systems can integrate with the Sui ecosystem. The standard will be hosted under LF Decentralized Trust, a Linux Foundation project focused on enterprise-grade decentralized technology governance.
The initiative signals a broader push by institutional players to establish interoperability benchmarks in the fast-growing tokenized asset space. By anchoring the standard within the Linux Foundation's neutral governance structure, the partners aim to give financial institutions and asset managers a credible, vendor-independent framework for connecting to Sui's blockchain infrastructure.

OTAS is described as agnostic by design, meaning it is intended to accommodate a range of asset classes and existing financial systems rather than locking participants into a single technology stack. The collaboration positions Sui, a layer-one blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, as a target ecosystem for institutional tokenization workflows seeking standardized on-ramps.
The announcement reflects accelerating industry momentum around tokenization standards as regulators and major financial institutions in the United States and globally increase scrutiny and engagement with digital asset infrastructure. Neutral, open-source governance bodies like LF Decentralized Trust have emerged as preferred stewards for such standards, lending legitimacy and reducing adoption friction for risk-averse institutional participants.
